Investing in eco-friendly home improvements can significantly boost property value. Solar panels, energy-efficient windows, and water-saving fixtures are top choices. Additionally, a TV mount LA installation not only enhances interior aesthetics but also promotes space optimization, making your home more appealing to potential buyers and environmentally conscious.
Want to boost your property value in the incredibly competitive market at the moment? Well, solar panels, wind turbines, triple glazing and underfloor heating are among the eco-friendly home improvements that could increase your property value by almost £13k each.
New research from the find-a-tradesperson platform, Rated People, reveals that a record number of homeowners are set to install energy-saving eco home improvements in 2022. Analysing more than 800,000 home improvement jobs on its platform to conduct the study, it found that more than half of UK homeowners (52%), want to make their homes more environmentally friendly this year to save money on bills.
If you’re looking to further boost the value of your home, other eco home improvements to consider include adding double glazing, extra insulation and installing a Biomass boiler or ground source heat pump — with each adding between £11,000 to £12,000.
Two of the top five improvements, solar panels and wind turbines, would also enable homeowners to create their own energy, something that is particularly helpful in the current climate of rising energy prices.
And homeowner demand for eco home improvements over the past year has also accelerated quickly.
“Almost half (45%) of UK homeowners are planning to make eco upgrades to their homes this year, which is up from 35% in 2021. But it’s Aberdeen that saw the biggest rise in demand for eco home improvement jobs, with 178% more eco jobs posted on Rated People, when compared to the year before. Bournemouth, Llandudno, Kirkaldy and Ipswich make up the rest of the top five – all of which have seen demand for eco home improvements increase by a minimum of 140% in just one year,” according to Rated People.
